A FAMILY-run Bournemouth business is celebrating its ten year anniversary by hosting a fundraiser to support a cancer charity.
A FAMILY-run Bournemouth business is celebrating its ten year anniversary by hosting a fundraiser to support a cancer charity.
Pro drainage group, a family run business, established in 2015 is organising Pro Drainage Family Fun Day for Macmillan on August 3 in support of Macmillan cancer charity and to celebrate its ten years in industry.
The day will include children’s entertainment from Mad4Animals and Jules the entertainer, live music, a barbecue, stalls, tombolas, and a charity raffle with more than 50 prizes donated by businesses.
Kelly Grundy from Pro drainage said they are very excited about the fundraiser and it’s a great opportunity to support charity’s ‘incredible’ work.
Kelly said: “Every penny we will raise, we're giving straight to Macmillan. We're not doing it as a gain at all. But, yeah, we just used our ten-year anniversary as a good excuse to hold a hold a charity event.”
Kelly said the company has posted about fundraising event on social media and they have received a good support from people of Bournemouth.
They are expecting hundreds of people to attend the event.
They have also started a fundraising page which has raised £3,180 with the target of £5,000.
She added: "We have received good support from local businesses in Bournemouth and Poole where they've donated a raffle prize, we're selling the raffle tickets, and then we'll hold a raffle on the day, but some of the prizes are incredible.
“And we have a lot of stalls, so we have 18 stores coming to look together. We really feel that the community has really come together to support on pro drainage and to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.”
The event will take place at Hamworthy Club, Magna Rd, Wimbourne, BH21 3AP starting at 11am and the raffle tickets are £2.50 each or five for £10.
Kelly said: “This cause means a great deal to us, and we want to do our bit to help Macmillan continue their incredible work.
“We are asking people to join us for a fantastic day filled with games, food, raffles, and fun for all ages all while raising money for a vital cause.
"Every penny raised will help Macmillan provide practical, emotional, and medical support to people living with cancer and their families.”
