More than 1,000 stylish motorcyclists took over the streets of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch this weekend as part of the iconic Distinguished.
More than 1,000 stylish motorcyclists took over the streets of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch this weekend as part of the iconic Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2026, a global charity event supporting men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.
Riders gathered at Poole Quay on Sunday morning dressed in classic and elegant attire before setting off on a scenic ride through Sandbanks, Westbourne, Bournemouth, Boscombe, Southbourne and Christchurch, finishing at the famous Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum.
The annual event, which began in 2012, has now raised over $60 million worldwide. This year, the Bournemouth and Poole ride alone has already surpassed an incredible £100,000 in donations, placing the local event among the top fundraising cities globally.
Event co-host Kris Gumbrell described the ride as “a fantastic event” that brings together the whole community for an important cause. Riders contribute an entry donation, with all proceeds going directly to charity.
One standout participant was Lee Corbet from Guernsey, who raised an impressive £9,000 for the cause, ranking among the top fundraisers in both the UK and worldwide. Lee shared how meaningful the event is, explaining that every donation helps spark conversations around men’s health and wellbeing.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is not only about motorcycles and fashion, it’s about raising awareness and encouraging men to speak openly about mental health challenges and health concerns that are too often overlooked.
Neil Duncan-Jordan, MP for Poole, attended the event and highlighted the importance of initiatives like this in bringing men’s health issues into public conversation.
